What is Casal Lambda? Founded in 1976, Casal Lambda is a pioneering non-profit organization in Spain dedicated to defending the rights and freedoms of the LGBTQ+ community. Based in Barcelona, it was established during a complex historical period with the clear mission of normalizing sexual and affective diversity throughout society. Key Pillars & Activities Casal Lambda serves as a welcoming space for community building, support, and cultural engagement through three main areas: Community Space & Action Groups: It fosters social connection through targeted affinity groups that organize their own activities (such as Grup Assaonats for older adults, youth groups, women's groups, theater, and outdoor hiking clubs). Support Services: The center provides comprehensive orientation and specialized consultation services covering psychological, legal, and educational needs for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. Culture & Documentation: It is the official organizer of Mostra FIRE!! (Barcelona's LGTBI Film Festival) and houses a historic Documentation Center, which serves as a vital international resource for researchers and professionals. Our Mission: To continuously raise awareness among public institutions, political parties, and civil society in order to eliminate all forms of discrimination.
